Hello friends.
Many of you know that my family has experienced a number of health problems over the past few years, including three open-heart surgeries. The photo below shows me with my husband (who has had two heart surgeries) and my 18-year-old son Preston (who had open-heart surgery in 2008).
Last night, Preston had to have emergency abdominal surgery. He was in a great deal of pain, so we ended up in the Emergency Department of Duke Hospital. A CT scan revealed air in his abdominal cavity. He had surgery to locate and repair a tear in his stomach.
Preston's care is complicated by the fact that he has an artificial heart valve. He is doing okay this morning, although he is very uncomfortable. Surgeons have told us to expect him to remain in the hospital 5-7 days.
Would you please pray for Preston? I would really appreciate it.
praying for preston.
ReplyDeleteOh yes Richella I have prayed just now for Preston and I will continue as the Lord brings him to my mind. I also prayed for you and the family. May peace come to your heart as you rest in Him concerning your son.
ReplyDelete"He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we ask or think!"

Richella, prayers coming your way for all of you! Watching our children hurt (physically and mentally) is very hard. Sounds like Preston is in good hands though and that is another thing to be grateful for. Will you all be dining at the hospital for Thanksgiving? At least you won't have to cook! Many blessing to you and your family and prayers for a quick recovery!
ReplyDeleteI'm sending prayers and healing thoughts your way.

I will pray for Preston & your family! I'm glad that he goes to school so close to home so that you could be there for him!! I'm sorry that you are at Duke again... but thankful that you live close to such a fantastic medical facility. I've had several abdominal surgeries- please make sure that Preston doesn't do too much too soon afterward!! It is easy to get a hernia in that area.
ReplyDeleteBlessings! :) Erin
Praying for peace for all and wisdom for the doctors.....Blessings,Lisa
