If I speak with the tongues of Facebook and Twitter
but have not love,
my writing is only spam.
If I have the gift of posting the most up-to-date projects
but have not love,
I am nothing.
If I have faith that I can build my blog into a thriving business
but have not love,
I gain nothing.
Love leaves the keyboard in search of a child's laugh.
Love smiles at the fingerprints on a freshly-cleaned monitor.
Love picks up the child before she picks up the remains of a photo shoot.
Love kisses the skinned knee before she responds to an email.
Love puts her family first, regardless of page views and click-throughs and revenues.
Love realizes that while she may write wonderful posts
or series of posts or even an e-book,
she'll never write a greater story than she is writing in the hearts of her children.

As a blogging mother there is much I must teach my child

Well said! Between you and Paul, I think you pretty much nailed it. Thank you, thank you for a poignant reminder that blogs are nice and business is good, but the real accolades we should be seeking are assurances from Him that we are fulfilling our roles as moms. Going to have some extra snuggle time today with my little ones---just decided to skip MOPS set-up tonight after reading this. :)

Beautiful Richella! When I started blogging I purposed to only do it when my youngest was resting during the day or at night after the kids are in bed. I don't want their memories of mommy to be of me sitting at the keyboard! I think this is something so many folks can relate to and it is a good reminder for us all. Thank you so much for being a positive voice in this blogging community!

I came over from Beneath My heart but seeing your "grammar lesson" section means i HAVE to subscribe. I have a number of pet peeves when it comes to grammar and spelling. i am known as "The Editor" at work and can spot a spelling error a mile away.
