A prayer for this momentous week
This is one of the most important weeks my family has known so far. This week my oldest son, Will, will graduate from U.S.Navy Officer Candidate School. We're heading to Newport, Rhode Island for his graduation and commissioning.
**Deep breath, Mom.**
I'll be chronicling these days on Instagram and Facebook; I'd love to have you join me there!
Here's what I'm praying for these days. Perhaps it would be a good prayer for you, too!
Your prayers for us are greatly appreciated!
What's happening in your world these days?

Hello, I am so happy for him and your family. It is wonderful to have a son that is living his dream. I do hope you have a wonderful time and enjoy it all. Blessings, Roxy
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! I know that you have very mixed emotions and my prayer is that you will have a peace that passes all understanding as your son takes the next big step. Have a wonderful trip!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful poem that I have copied to read often! Congrats on your son graduating and y'all must be so proud of him. I can also understand why it could be challenging too!
ReplyDeleteI love this old hymn...congratulations on your son's upcoming graduation. Best wishes! Have a safe trip and a wonderful time!
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful time for your son and your family! May God bless him as he graduates and goes out to fulfill God's will for his life! Have an awesome time with your family at this special occasion!
ReplyDeleteIs there only one OCS class at a time? My daughter has a friend who is in Newport now for that, but I didn't think he was graduating yet. Email me if there's only one class and you'd like to greet a lovely Christian young man up there!
ReplyDeleteThirkellgirl, there are several classes at OCS at a time. A new class starts every three weeks. My son's class graduates this week, so a new class will begin on Sunday. How cool that your daughter has a friend who's there!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! How exciting for you all! Prayers will be for safety as you travel and peace to reign in your hearts as you all step into a new season. I hope you can enjoy the Newport area; maybe get to see some of the mansions-they will take your breath away! You will be just an hour from me! It would be lovely to meet in person but I am sure your time will be filled enjoying your son and his big day!
ReplyDeleteAmen, Richella! Praying for all of you. I know you are so proud of your son you must feel like bursting! Thank him (for me and my family) for going into the service! You did good, Mom...very, very good! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, and congrats. I can understand that it must be a bittersweet moment. A million prayers over. I am going to follow you on FB. I'm not sure why I don't already. Sweat journey friend and let you son know how proud I am of the military and thanks for going to keep us safe.
