Grace at Home No. 476

Well, my friends, we've almost made it through July. Around here that means that the hottest month of the year is nearly over, which is a relief. . . but it also means that the "lazy, crazy, hazy days of summer" are fading fast.

I'm always glad to see what y'all are up to, and here are a few highlights from last week's party.

If you're wanting more of a beachy look, check out this post from Niky at The House on Silverado.

If you'd prefer to stay inside and dream of other seasons, Christmas in July might be just what you need! Mary Jo from MasterPieces of My Life has some great crafting projects for you.

Do you have an antique sewing machine but don't know what to do with it? KMich Wedding Soiree Blog to the rescue! So many great ideas.

Do you struggle to find room to store bulky grill tools? You'll want to see this DIY organizer from Bill and Janet of A Life of Balance.

My boys and I love pepper jelly, but I've never made my own, so I was excited to get this recipe from Stacie at Counting Tomatoes.

Grace at Home No. 475

Hello, friends! I hope you're having a good summertime week and that you've managed to stay cool. That's been quite a job in my neck of the woods!

I'm glad to welcome you to the Grace at Home party, where we celebrate all the ways we make our homes places of grace. Here are some features from last week's party.

Do you have a bathroom that needs to be updated? Renae from Peacock Ridge Farm shows you how she transformed a bathroom into a lovely cottage style space.

Need a cool kids' activity for a hot summer afternoon? Try visiting an art museum! Kelli from 3 Boys and a Dog shows you how to make it fun for kids.

Peaches are ripe and delicious this time of year, so I was tickled to get this recipe for Honey-Whipped Ricotta Crostini from Jenny at Not Entirely Average. Beautiful and delicious looking!

Grace at Home No. 474

"Summertime. . . and the livin' is easy. . . " Said no one living in the piedmont of North Carolina in 2022. Y'all! We've alternated between temperatures in the 90's with soaring humidity to flash flooding. Mercy.

But here we are, smack in the middle of summer, and I hope you're having a beautiful July. I'm so grateful to welcome you here for the Grace at Home party, where we celebrate the ways we make our homes and spheres of influence places of grace, no matter the weather! Here are some highlights from our last party.

Thinking of adding a dog to your home? Summertime is a great time to get a dog (much easier than the middle of winter!). Carol from Comfort Spring offers some excellent advice for making your outdoor space both dog-friendly and safe.

Hoping to get in some travel before school starts in a few weeks? Jamie from PhotoJeepers offers some wonderful tips for visiting national parks in August.

Or maybe you're looking forward to the new school year and need some guidance about what planner might be best for you. Tanya from Mom's Small Victories has you covered!

By the way, Tanya's post is a great example of how comparison is a useful tool. If you struggle with comparing yourself to other people, you might have run across advice stating that comparison is a sin. That simply isn't true! If this is a struggle for you, I can help: I wrote a book about finding freedom from comparison, and I'd love for you to check it out. You can even read the first chapter to see if it might be a good resource for you.

I love getting new recipes in the summertime, and our last party included several I want to try.

Do you find your temper fraying easily on the hottest days of summer? Anger is more than a seasonal issue, of course, but how do we deal with it? Amy from Wasteland to Graceland has some helpful words about it.
